“After retiring, I became involved with the Harrogate Branch of the NHSRF. I loved the outings, the fellowship of the members and the speakers at the monthly meetings. Some members I had known whilst working in Harrogate but many I hadn’t known.
Moving to Scotland was a big move and one planned for many years but when it came about, the NHSRF was the one thing I knew that I would miss most. I decided to remain a member for a year to see how things would go in my new home-area. I still have some family contact in Harrogate so I travel south several times a year. The Harrogate Branch’s website enables me to see what members have been up to each month and keeps me in touch with the group that I hold dear to my heart. I, like many other people, was slow to embrace the “new” technology but I have succumbed and can see how useful it is and I look forward to keeping in touch via my computer.”
